overwhelmed and overstimulated mom with toddler boy

Kira Sadaka, MSEd

I earned my Masters Degree in Childhood Education in 2006 and taught preschool and elementary school for nine years in both New York City and Los Angeles.  When I began fertility treatment in 2014, I stepped away from the classroom in order to dedicate my energy to becoming a mother.  Two and a half years later, we welcomed our daughter to the world.  Just before I delivered her, my husband voiced his worries about becoming a parent, and I waved my hand at him and said “Don’t worry, I’ve got this!”  Within the next four years we had a son and another daughter and let me tell you - I did not have this!  I was exhausted, overstimulated, and stuck in a cycle of shame, blame, and self-doubt. How awful to be blessed with the family of my dreams and not be soaking up the joy of motherhood - but I just couldn’t get there.

This journey brought me to the Jai Institute of Parenting, which has gifted me with the tools I needed to understand myself, both as my own person and as a mother. With a science/research-based understanding of the brain, nervous system, attachment theory, emotional intelligence, and childhood development, I am excited to guide parents through personal growth and inner-healing. With a commitment to imperfect authenticity, I invite you to join me as you are, so we can work together to help you become the parent you want to be.
