real mom vibes...

our founder

When our founder, Dr. Sanam Shamtobi, had her first child, the shock of what it meant to be a mother was immediate...

Despite all the preparation, support, and good intentions, she was drowning. The anxiety came first. Then the rage. Then the realization that she barely recognized herself.

She loved her son in the most deep and profound ways, but seemed to hate pumping just as much. And, as evening approached, her chest would tighten—because sunset meant another battle with sleep, with silence, with herself.

In that raw, sleep-deprived fog, she saw the truth: this was not just a personal struggle—it was an entry into a world she had only just begun exploring. Mothers were suffering, quietly, and being handed platitudes instead of care.

Dr. Shamtobi had already been a psychologist for over a decade. But becoming a mom  cracked something open. She realized how deeply mothers need real, expert care that’s grounded, nonjudgmental, and honest. That’s why she created The Mother Hood—a shame free space where no mom has to feel like she’s too much, too broken, or too alone.
